WHAT ARE THE COVENANTS AND WHY DO I KEEP THEM? MY TESTIMONY
People swear by themselves that they understand the deep things of God. Yet I have witnessed with my own eyes that leaders who claim to be from God, do not keep the one covenant that Jesus said to acknowledge. There are many covenants, like that with Noah, Abraham, David, and Jesus and also ones with Earth, like the rainbow. A covenant is an agreement or promise like that of the new covenant. I believe the church calls it the last supper, in which denominations observe it once a year during Easter or monthly. The last supper and its significance was where the new covenant is established and involves taking communion to acknowledge the covenant. I have attended many churches over the years and out of all the times that i've taken communion with the church, they have only explained that we take communion to remember that Jesus died for us to take away the sins of this world. This is how I know that God has only called a select few to teach people the gospel of Jesus Christ in seeing how none of the people preach and teach what Jesus taught.
The holy spirit came on me at a pentecostal holiness church built, owned and operated by my Great-Grandfather Bishop James McCoy, Sr. The denomination is fitting because it was in that space that the Holy Spirit came on me like the disciples in the book of Acts. As I said before, I prophesied, signs happened and truth came to pass. While the church was going through God's restructuring, one of the reasons people claimed to leave the church was due to my great-granddaddy's teachings. He was heavy on teaching the old testament and the first 4 books of the new testament. Not only did he teach from those books, his demonstrations were those like Jesus did.
When I was 9 years old, my great-grandfather who was in his 70s, pulled me and my dirty cousins who were playing outside with no shoes on in the sand, to the side and began to read from John 15 beginning at the 1st verse. All I remember hearing that day was to have clean feet and to do what Jesus did. Fast forward, i'm 15 and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. I'm seeing my great-granddaddy live out what he was teaching, by taking communion on Sunday's, washing members feet and observing passover. His teaching and lifestyle were not new according to the word of God. The saints believed that he didn't know what he was talking about because he was old so they started leaving.
Ironically, most of the people that left, joined other churches of whom the bishops and pastors were ordained and given authority to open churches by my great-grandfather. The teaching was too hard for them so they left and got vain understanding. Most of them got lost, stopped attending church, returned to their sinful lives, joined other denominations, took advice from witches and warlocks, false prophets and false teachers. I ran away from them before everything took place. I tried listening to the sermons of today. I attended their gatherings to hear why they don't believe the covenants aren't important and the old testament. My questions is the same as Jesus; how can you pour new wine into old wineskins?
Your thought process is wicked. Instead of sitting still and listening to instructions and seeking out wisdom through the Holy Spirit, you get mad at people and run away from the truth. I did it. I know how it turns out. I hated myself for a long time. I went to gatherings and couldn't listen to the pastor's teaching. My former Bishop, my own flesh and blood told me the way to Jesus, but I wanted friends and people to like me so I tried to follow them. Well, I cannot. Listening to these people preach about things they should be teaching and teaching about things the should be preaching gets on my last nerves to the fullest. When i've told people the insight that God has given me about preachers and teachers who are leading God's people to sin, they tell me they have to check into it or that they don't take advice from anyone. I laugh and am thinking that this person is foolish. I have never told a lie from God.
For about a year now, i've gone back to my great-grandfather's teachings. They bring so much clarity to my life. I now understand why he taught the old testament. In order for Jesus to crush Satan's plan, he had to establish the way. God said to never tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. Every time God wanted to acknowledge his grace and mercy, He established them through agreements known as covenants. I am a sinner. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. I don't live my life in sin even though I was born into it. Every Friday evening, I acknowledge that the life of Jesus is for me and that I am to follow in his footsteps. Every meal I eat is for me, but the bread and wine that I drink are in remembrance of him that he will return again and this time he will come with fire and not water to destroy the Earth. Before all of that takes place, he will rise up his people and bring them with him. I, too, want to be in that number that is risen so I take communion with him every week to tell him thank you and honor his commands. You should too.
